Description
Thick octagonal-sectioned tapering rod with a faceted cube head but no obvious neck. The shank has a line of notches down each angle giving a cable design. The pin is in two pieces; the narrower end has a 23 mm long socket drilled in it. Recorded as a distaff in Eborcaum. Now thought to be a possible hair curler or ringlet maker.
