- Double edged blade with single fuller groove near hilt on each side, inscribed "WILLEM WIRSBURG" with an orb and cross motif.. Basket hilt of English type roughly decorated with incised lines and is attached to the large globular pommel at three points, in a groove. The inscription means the German made blade pre dates the design of the hilt by at least twenty years.
