Drawing From Bloomsbury Life – Sat 19 Mar 2022

19 March, 2pm, £25
As a key member of the Bloomsbury Group, Roger Fry’s aesthetic advice was to express emotions through a work of art and design via five elements: light and shade, colour, rhythm of line, mass, and space.
In terms of space, our life drawing session will take place live on gallery, surrounded by our Community Omega and Rebel Arts imagery produced as part of our exhibition, Beyond Bloomsbury : Life, Love and Legacy.
Led by Rob Oldfield, this two-hour immersive Saturday session will explore drawing from a posed life model considering Fry’s concepts. The cost of the workshop includes entry to the Bloomsbury exhibition prior to the start of the life drawing session, anytime from 12.00pm on the day.
Rob is a York-based artist and tutor. He himself has modelled for life classes for many years, as well as teaching life drawing to his students. As workshop leader, Rob encourages, advises and listens, so please do come along and take advantage of his skills and experience.
Basic drawing materials will be supplied, but please feel free to bring your own dry media too.
Please note that you must be over 18 to participate in these workshops.
Ticket includes entry to all York Art Gallery exhibitions, including Beyond Bloomsbury: Life Love and Legacy
